The Creeping Death

A quick spooky read with a big 'what if they'd just...' hanging over the ending.
This got surprisingly tense for a very light-hearted writing style. With several moments of "noo, don't do it!" Beck captured the intensity, fright, and human nature of waiting very well.
It felt like a snapshot from The Mist - people just surviving the unknown and terrifying, and us - the always-wiser onlookers, judging their every step along the way.
It's a ten minute read with enough spook to last you the day.
